Eco-friendly management of rice stem borer in spring rice (chaite-5)

Since chemical pesticides have a variety of short- and long-term social, economic, environmental repercussions, research was conducted in Baniyani, Jhapa, Nepal from January to July 2021 manage the Yellow Stem Borer (YSB) rice an environmentally responsible manner. The followed Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications seven treatments using spring Chaite-2. used were spinosad 45% SC, Bacillus Thuringensis var krustaki + saccharopolyspora 15% Azadiractin 0.3%, Chinaberry (Bakaino) leaf extract, Mugwort (Titepati) Metarhizium anisopliae untreated plot. In order evaluate efficacy treatments, number dead heart white head symptoms counted at various time intervals, namely 7, 15, 21 days after spraying (DAS). At vegetative reproductive stages rice, stem borer causes known as "dead heart" "white head," respectively. eco-friendly insecticides significantly altered how affected. Among insecticides, Spinosad 45%SC caused highest reduction hearts whiteheads. SC treated plot showed yield (7.5tha-1). Given its effectiveness eco-friendliness, could be regarded most successful insecticide for controlling pest Rice Borer.
